“Once on This Island” is a Hurrah Players production that is soon to be showing in the Hurrah Players very own Perry Family Theatre. Senior James Cooper has been directing, choreographing and pulling the whole show together for his senior project.

“I asked [Artistic Director] Hugh Copeland if I could direct ‘Once on This Island’ for my senior project. He agreed and trusted me to do a good job.” James said.

“Once on This Island” is based off of a novel “My Love, My Love” written by Rosa Guy. It is based on two forbidden lovers, who are on opposite sides of an island struggling to be together.

“It’s a Caribbean ‘Little Mermaid,’” James said.

Showtimes are Feb. 12 at 7:00 p.m., Feb. 13 at 7:00 p.m. and Feb. 14 at 3:00 p.m.. Tickets are selling for $20 and are available to purchase on the Hurrah Players website.
